Eye Care

As we grow older, our sight diminshes and we fall risk to conditions such as cataracts and glaucoma. Residents with visual impairment are at an increased risk of falling and injuring themselves.

Our Optometrists carry out comprehensive annual eye examinations to ensure ocular health is maintained and will prescribe glasses if required, ensuring improved spacial perception. Spectacles will also improve a quality of life, allowing for better reading, watching TV and participating in activities.

Our Eye Care Service Includes

• Ensure optimum vision with regular Ocular Health & Vision Assessments
• Sight tests bulk-billed to Medicare / DVA as appropriate
• Full spectacle dispensing service as required upon approval
• Updated Medical / Progress Notes
• Full report of all information including refraction, visual acuities, pathology, recommendations and referrals
• Review of Progressive Conditions including Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration
• Liaison with Residents, Carers and NOK
